Keeping in the mind the same view, Our school celebrated 8th Grand Annual Extravaganza 2019 with great zeal, enthusiasm, excitement, fun and frolic.  The occasion was graced by the eminent school management; Chairman Sir, Mr. Jaspal Singh Randhawa, President Ma’am, Mrs.  Baljit Kaur Randhawa, Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa, Vice- President Ma’am Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur Randhawa, Ma’am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra , Dr.  Ramanpreet Kaur  Randhawa and Principals of Guru Amar Dass Group  of Schools, Mrs. Manisha  Sood, Mrs. Rajinder Kaur, and  Mrs.  Jagpreet  Kaur and Vice Principal ,Mr.  Pardeep Kumar. The Chief Guest of the day, Brigadier Amandeep Singh Bajaj and Mrs, Tejleen Kaur Bajaj.The function was woven around the theme “Threads of Life” that was meticulously projected through so many wonderful performances.The day was an amalgamation of different performances such as  Micky Mouse Dance, Hindi Play by U.K.G. students on “Family Values”, Choreography on Teacher highlighting the “Role of teacher in transforming the students”, Save environment, Punjab Heritage, Woman Empowerment(Emancipation of women) and many more. The most riveting performance which drew unceasing applause was, “exaltation to the soldiers- the sacrifice of Indian Army”. The ice on the cake was a documentary film “The untold story of Eminent Sir Chairman, Mr. Jaspal  Singh Randhawa” which encouraged everyone to strive to reach their destiny regardless of any challenge and difficulty.In the second part of the function Ma’am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra promulgated the Annual Report and the achievements of the school garnered in the course of the year 2018- 19 with the PowerPoint Presentation. The chief guest of the day along with other dignitaries gave away the prizes to the meritorious students. Students who excelled in co-curricular activities were also honoured. Intermittent applause from the parents during the annual report presentation was an evident appreciation and inspiration for all the endeavours undertaken by the school. Both Teachers and Students were also given “100% Attendance Award” whereas Mr. Ranjit Singh was honoured with “Student of the Year Award”.  All the distinguished guests handed over the trophy of ‘Best House’ to the House Incharge of Lotus  House and its members. In his address, Chief Guest of the day, Brigadier Amandeep Singh Bajaj appreciated the efforts of the school management, Principal, Educators and students for putting up wonderful show covering every aspect of the threads of life.  The vote of thanks was proposed by Ma’am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra followed by enlivening performances of Giddha and Bhangra. It was indeed a joyous moment graced by all the dignitaries, teachers and parents, respected parents.  Everyone left the hall with an energized feel, overwhelming happiness and with smiles on their faces after this exhilarating evening.



 CHILDREN DAY


Our school celebrated the Children's Day to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru with enthusiasm and zeal, keeping in mind his words, “
Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow".
The teachers took charge of the assembly to make the day unforgettable for the students. The celebrations began with lamp lightning ceremony initiated by Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa, Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra along with Head Boy, Head Girl and house captains of each house. It was further followed by the recition of the school prayer by the teachers. They sang a mellifluous song to mark celebrations. The teachers gave various performances in order to express their love and care for the students. The highlight of the assembly was the scintillating dance performance by the teachers. The teachers showcased their talent by performing a play and reciting the poems.
As per the instructions of Punjab Government, 14th November is also celebrated as "Buddy Day".To celebrate "Buddy Day", annual sports meet was organized in which our energetic students performed excitedly in various events such as Shot-put Throw, Long Jump, Sack Race, lemon Race, Volleyball, Kho-Kho and many more. In his address, Sir Director wished the students and advised them to set their goals and keep pursuing them with strong determination and hard work. Ma'am Principal reiterated the message of sharing is caring and advised them to follow the directions of their elders to reach the zenith of success. The celebrations ended with the distribution of delicious cookies among the students.


550th Parkash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji


Our school celebrated 550th Parkash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji who laid the foundation of Sikhism, with great religious fervour and gaiety. The assembly commenced with the recitation of Holy Bani "Japuji Sahib" followed by Shabad Kirtan. The students recited poems and performed a play portraying the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The spiritual vibes created by the Shabad " 550 Saal Guru de nal, Khushiyan nal manavage" transported everyone into the heavenly realm. The teachers delivered the speeches to highlight the biography and teachings of Guruji. Speaking on this auspicious occasion, Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa and Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra apprised the students about the teaching of Guruji and said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji is the apostle of peace and humanity whose teachings would continue to inspire generations until this universe will be in existence. The assembly reached to its pinnacle with the recitation of "Anand Sahib" followed by "Ardaas" and distribution of "Kadah Prashad" among everyone present there.


DHARMIK EXAM


To commemorate the 550 Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, our school organized the "Dharmik Exam" based on the biography, teachings, influences, journeys, succession of Guru Ji. In this exam, all the students participated enthusiastically showing great reverence to Guruji chanting the "Satnam Waheguru" before the exam and after as well. Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra said that these kind of religious exams will help the students to know about their Guru's teachings and eventually will become spiritually strong not to be drowned in materialistic misdeeds.


SOFT SKILLS AND TIME MANAGEMENT


To make the students aware of the Soft Skills and their Role and Importance in the students 'life, our school organized 2 days workshop on "Soft Skills and Time Management". The resource persons of the workshop were Mr. Chandar Shekhar and Mrs. Amanpreet Kaur. The topics covered in the session were the development of personality traits, social graces, communication, language, personal habits, interpersonal skills, professional etiquette etc. The workshop was extremely participative and helped students tremendously in honing up their soft skills and time management. Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra, honoured the resource person of the day with a token of gratitude. Ma'am advised the students to manage their time effectively as it will reduce their stress which leads to more career success.


Diwali Celebration


 

School organized an e-assembly to make the future leaders of the country aware of the ill-effects of drugs


Guru Amar Dass Public School organized an e-assembly to make the future leaders of the country aware of the ill-effects of drugs.This assembly was organized under the supervision of the e-buddy group formed on the directions of Punjab Government to curb drugs from the grass-root level. The students took an oath to say no to drugs and make India a drugs free Nation.

OUR SCHOOL ORGANIZED THE SPECIAL ASSEMBLY "SAY NO TO DRUG"


To control the drug menace right from the grassroots level, the state government has decided to introduce a “buddy group” program. With the same motive, our school organized the special assembly " Say No to Drugs" to make the students aware of the ill-effects of drugs.
The assembly commenced with the prayer followed by the thought, word of the day.
Drugs have been a major issue for the society for much of the 20th century. Drugs are something that affects everyone, regardless of race or financial standing. The same was expalined through speech, poem, and videos.As children of today are the future of the nation, Ma'am Principal,Mrs. Sakshi Chopra highlighted the adverse effects of drug abuse and its consequences that lead to violence, crime, financial problems, housing problems, homelessness, etc. The assembly ended with the national anthem.

 

TRIP TO GRUDWARA SRI BER SAHIB JI SULTANPUR LODHI


Our school organized the two consecutive days trip to Guruduwara Sri Ber Sahib Ji Sultanpur Lodhi on the eve of 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of the religion of Sikhism ,and the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. The students bowed their head before the Guru Granth Sahib Ji and showed their reverence. The students enjoyed restorative Shabad Kirtan that alleviated their anxiety and provided them peace of mind. The students also visited Gurudwara Hatt Sahib, Gurudwara Bebe Nanaki Ji, and Guru Ka Bagh and were informed about the history of GuruJi's life. All the students and educators had "langar" and went back.

SCIENCE AND MATHS MODEL EXHIBITION

The special assembly was organized to celebrate Gandhi Jayanthi . The assembly began with the prayer song " Ishwar allah tere naam, sab ko sanmati de bhagwaan" followed by word of the day and an eloquent thought that emphasized the importance of the non-violence. Students recited poems to remember the hardships faced by Gandhi Ji and eventually its reward in the form of Freedom.
Students were made aware of Gandhiji's s life through PowerPoint Presentation and Motivational Video and a brief quiz was conducted in which all the students participated enthusiastically. The Dance Performance given by students highlighted the unity in diversity of India. In her address Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra reiterated the message of love, peace, and non-violence. On this day, those students who performed exceptionally well in the "Leaders" Sections of various classes were promoted in Achievers Section. Ma'am Principal honoured the students and teachers on the stage. The assembly ended with the National Anthem.



SCIENCE AND MATHS MODEL EXHIBITION


Our school organized PTM on Sep 28 to discuss the performance of the students. It was a very interactive and fruitful session.
Parents were shown the Half-Yearly /PT -2 report. They had positive feedback to discuss about and had few suggestions which were noted down.
The parents were appreciative of all the subject teachers and personally went on to thank those who took extra effort for their child’s improvement.
Parents were delighted with our school Curriculum and felt happy that their child is a part of it.
Our school also held
Science and Maths Model Exhibition in school premises. The occasion was graced by Sir Director,Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa, Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra ,all the educators of GADPS and respected parents of the students. The parents were ecstatic to watch all the models.
The PTM came to an end with the conclusion that the progress of the students depends on the joint effort of Parents and Teachers.



JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION


   

In order to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna, the special assembly was organized by our school. The assembly started with the floral welcome of Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra followed by lamp lightning ceremony and school prayer. Beautiful decorations were put up to make this event more cheerful and colorful. The life history of Lord Krishna was very beautifully highlighted through the speech by Ma'am Deepa.
The main attraction of the celebration was breaking of the "Matki" that marked the mischievous nature of ‘Bal Gopal’.
Students also gave scintillating dance performance to make the day memorable. While addressing the students, Ma'am Principal said that the prime motive of celebrating different festivals is to educate the students about their cultural and spiritual heritage and teach them to live in harmony with all the other religions, respecting their values. On the eve of Janmashtami, Ma'am Principal wished all," Happy Janmashtami" and shared valuable information about Lord Krishna. The assembly ended with the National Anthem.



 INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION


 
 

 The special assembly was organized by our school to celebrate the Independence day and Raksha Bandhan. The assembly started with the arrival of the chief guest of the day, Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa and Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra. The speeches highlighting the importance of the day were delivered whereas the PowerPoint Presentation on the Martyrs of our country was shown to the students and a brief quiz was also conducted in which all the students participated enthusiastically. A play projecting the eternal love between brothers and sisters and the sacrifice of a soldier for his country was played by the students. To make the special, the Inter-House Patriotic Song Competition was also organized in which all the participated very great fervor. This competition was adjudged by Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa and Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra. The winners of the competition were awarded certificates. Both Sir Director and Ma'am Principal urged the students to pledge to free India from poverty, dirt, corruption, and communalism to make it a developed nation. The assembly ended with National Anthem.



 RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION


 

 ‘The paths may change as life goes along, but the bond between a brother and sister remains ever strong.’
Raksha Bandhan is the festival which celebrates the eternal love between brothers and sisters. On this day, our young GADIANs turned into little artisans as Rakhi and Card Making activity was conducted in school premises . Girls made illuring rakhi whereas boys made cards for their sisters. Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa and Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra appreciated the efforts put up by the students.

GRADUATION CEREMONY CELEBRATION


       

 

The silence of GADPS was shattered with the chirping of our young GADIANs when they entered the school campus. The students came back after summer vacations and were excited, re-energized and rejuvenated. To welcome the students, the special assembly was organized by the teachers of our school. The assembly commenced with the School Prayer followed by the thought, word and news updates. To welcome the students, teachers sang the mellifluous song. Maam Anita delivered a motivational speech to welcome the students and make them back on the track after the break. To inculcate moral values among the students, an inspirational video was shown to the students. While addressing the students, Ma'am welcomed the students after a long break of summer vacations and reiterated the message of 'Sharing is Caring' and advised them to work hard to scale the height of success. Ma'am also gave birthday cards to 'Birthday Boys and Girls'.The assembly ended with National Anthem and students moved to their classes with their happy and beamy faces.

The graduation ceremony was organized by our school to honor the outgoing batch of Grade XII students. The day commenced with the floral welcome of the chief guest of the day Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa and Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra followed the lightning of the lamp . The school choir sang the mellifluous song to welcome everyone present there. Both Sir Director and Ma'am Principal honoured the students with certificates and plaques of appreciation while the students recounted their school experiences in emotional and evocative overtones. The teachers who worked very hard to produce stupendous result were also honored by Sir Director and Ma'am Principal for their indefatigable spirit. The video shown to the students triggered nostalgia for the students as they yearned and cherished the memorable days spent in the school. In his address, Sir Director congratulated the students for their meritorious students and advised them to be what they are rather than imitate others. Ma'am Principal also advised the students to keep in touch with the school and wished them to reach the pinnacle of success. The day reached to its culmination with cake cutting ceremony followed by the vote of thanks proposed by the former Head Boy, Mr. Akashdeep Singh.



SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON EXAMINATION

To emancipate the stress and fear of examination, we organized special assembly to motivate the students. The assembly began with the prayer showing obedience and seeking the blessing of God followed by word and thought of day related to the examination. To encourage the students to be stress-free during the exam, the speech was delivered by Mr. Jaswinder Singh whereas Mr. Ramandeep Singh gave important instructions to the students regarding the examination. While addressing the students, Ma'am Principal said that examination is the only way to assess our performance and advised them to work hard and give their best in every exam of life. Ma'am Principal also honored the winners of The Inter -House Table Setting Competition and their teachers. The assembly ended with National Anthem.



SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON VOTING AWARENESS


       

“ The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all.”

The Wealth of a nation is not so much in its of economical and natural resources but it lies more decidedly in the kind and quality of the wealth of its children and youth. It is they who will be the creators and shapers of a nation's tomorrow. So they must be aware of the importance of voting to establish the strong foundation of the country.
With the same motive,
Our school organized special assembly to make the students aware of the importance of voting. The assembly was graced by Ma'am Principal,Mrs. Sakshi Chopra. The assembly began with the school prayer followed by thought and word of the related to voting. Speeches were delivered by teachers highlighting the importance of Voting in a democratic country. The motivational video was shown and Nukkad Natak was played to make the students know that how one vote can change the scenario of results. Sir Ramandeep Singh meticulously explained the procedure of casting the vote. In her address, Ma'am Principal said that it is the right and responsibility of every citizen of our country who is 18 or above 18 years to cast the vote for the better future of our country, So students must aware their parents of the propaganda of all the political parties. The informative assembly ended with National Anthem.



100% RESULT IN GRADE X CBSE BOARD EXAMINATION


 
 

 

After a strenuous year of hard work and with a vehement desire to succeed, the students of Grade X produced stupendous results in CBSE Grade X Board Examination. To honour the students and the parents of shining stars, our school organized special assembly in school premises. The assembly kicked off with the floral welcome of Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa and respected parents of our shining stars followed by lamp lightning and school prayer. The auditorium buzzed with excitement when Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra announced the results. Sir Director congratulated the meritorious students and urged the other students to be inspired by the achievements of our position holders. The meritorious students shared their experiences and success mantra with their predecessors. Their parents also shared their views and were thankful for school management, Ma'am Principal and Teachers for playing their part with full enthusiasm in the success of their wards.The students were duly rewarded with cash prize by Sir Director and Ma'am Principal.The teachers who worked very hard throughout the year and produced excellent results were also awarded by Sir Director and Ma'am Principal with a token of gratitude.The celebrations ended with the cake cutting ceremony followed by National anthem.



100% RESULT IN GRADE XII CBSE BOARD EXAMINATION

Our School organized special assembly to honor our shining stars and their parents for producing 100% result in Grade XII CBSE Board Examination. The occasion was graced by Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa, Ma'am Principal ,Sakshi Chopra and respected parents of the students. Ma'am Principal announced the result and praised and congratulated the students for their commendable accomplishment. The meritorious students shared their success mantra with the predecessors. All the teachers congratulated them and wished them for the bright future. The celebrations reached to culmination with cake cutting ceremony by Sir Director, Ma'am Principal, teachers, Parents, and Students.



LABOUR DAY CELEBRATION


   

"It is only through labour and painful effort, by grim energy and resolute courage that we move on to better things."
To commemorate the tireless of class four employees of GADPS ,our school celebrated the Labour Day in school premises. The event was designed to forge a better understanding of the labour community among our students who must learn to respect and appreciate their efforts. The celebrations kicked off with the lightning of the lamp by Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa, Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra and Mrs. Rajinder Kaur , Principal of GAD Sen. Sec. School along with employees of the school followed by school prayer. To highlight the importance of grade four employees, teachers and students performed plays. The other activities that marked the day were Gidha performance by the maids and musical chair and balloon bursting games were especially organized for the employees and winners were duly rewarded with gifts. All the employees were felicitated with a token of appreciation by the Sir Director and Ma’am Principal. They were overwhelmed to watch the function and expressed their gratitude towards the school management, teachers and students for their endeavor. In his address , Sir Director extorted the efforts of the unsung heroes of the school and showed the utmost respect towards them. Ma'am Principal also stressed upon the importance of grade four employees in the progress of any institution and society as all strata of society is handicapped without their valuable contribution. On this auspicious occasion, the winners of different competitions and Best Caretaker of the month, Best Employee of the month were also awarded by Sir Director and Ma'am Principal. The Celebration reached to its pinnacle with the National Anthem and all the employees had delicious lunch.



INVESTITURE CEREMONY


l“Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences in life".
To inculcate the leadership qualities among the students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, the Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2019-20 was held on April 25, 19. The chief guest of the day was Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa and Ma’am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra. The ceremony began with the school prayer followed by the thought, word of the day and news updates. The Head Boy, Mr. Ranjit Singh, Head Girl, Ms. Harman Bajwa along with their team of office bearers took an oath to hold the school motto and honour in high esteem. Sir Director and Ma'am Principal vested the newly elected office bearers with badges of honour and each leader was standing tall and proud, prepared to shoulder the responsibilities with vigour, zest, and newly found passion. Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa encouraged the students to be at their best while discharging their duties and take the school to a new height. Ma’am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra congratulated the newly appointed office bearers of the school and advised them to perform their responsibilities with utmost diligence. The assembly reached to its pinnacle with National Anthem.



DISTRICT LEVEL SAHODAYA INTER - SCHOOL PUNJABI DECLAMATION COMPETITION

Our shining stars , Arunpreet Kaur and Harjot Kaur won 1st and 2nd position respectively in District Level Sahodaya Inter- School Punjabi Declamation organized by Guru Amar Dass Public School , Goindwal Road, Kapurthala in which 21 reputed schools of the Kapurthala district participated. . This competition was graced by Sir Chairman, Mr. Jaspal Singh Randhawa , Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa, Ma’am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra and chief guest of the Dr. Daljit Singh Khaira, Principal of Bebe Nanaki University College , Mithra. The competition was adjudged by Dr. Bhupinder Kaur , HOD Punjabi, Hindu Kanya College Kapurthala, Mrs. Sandeep Kaur, Assist. Professor Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Campus, Sultanpur Lodhi and Lecturer Gurpartap Singh ,G.S.S. school, Goindwal . All the listeners and jury members were impressed by the confidence exhibited by the our students as they voiced their opinion in strong and powerful words in neck to neck competition where everyone tried to outshine the other to the best of his / her ability. Sir Chairman, Sir Director, Ma’am Principal and jury members felicitated the winners with certificate and wished them for their bright future.




“Children are great imitators, give them something great to imitate.”


“Characters come alive” is an  activity – cum- competition presenting a small act where the participants get an opportunity to imitate different character and it offers a chance to the participants to gain experience, showcase speaking and presentation skills and uncover personal aptitude. Keeping in mind the same view, the Inter-House “Characters come alive” competition was organized by our school for the category Atoms. Two students from each house participated in this competition. This Competition was adjudged by Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa and Ma’am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra. The objective of this competition was not only to blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in the little ones. The excitement of our young actors knew no bounds as they waited eagerly for their turn to perform.  Resplendent in their costumes and glowing in all their finery, they emulated and portrayed themselves as State Representative, Freedom Fighters, Celebrities, and Cartoon Characters with great conviction and confidence. It proved to be a great learning experience for all the children. Both Sir Director and Ma'am Principal were stupefied to see the performances of the students and honoured the winners with certificates.

To develop healthy eating habits among the students, our school celebrated the World Health Day. The assembly began with the prayer followed by thought, word of the day and news updates. Students recited poems to inculcate good healthy habits among the students. Students also played the role of Junk Food and Natural Vegetables to make the students aware of the damaging effects of junk food. Ma'am Gurmeet delivered a speech on the topic "Health is Wealth”.
