                 GURUPURAB CELEBRATIONS

Guru Amar Dass Public School organized special assembly to celebrate Gurupurab of the Tenth Guru of Sikhs, "Guru Gobind Singh Ji". The celebrations began with the recitation of the holy bani of Japuji_Sahib  followed by the word, thought of the day. Students recited the poems whereas speeches were delivered by the teachers highlighting the whole life of Guru Sahib who sacrificed his parents and four sons for his beloved Khalsa and whole humankind. The students were fascinated to learn how the Guru acquired the stature as saint, poet, philosopher, and soldier.  The celebrations reached to culmination with the recitation of relaxing and restorative "Shabad Kirtan" and "Anand Sahib" followed by Ardas.



Martyrdom  of the two younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh


Our school organized an online assembly to mark the martyrdom of the two younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh, who were bricked alive during the regime of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.These two youngest heroes and bravest comrade of Sikhism, and Mata Gujar Kaur Ji, their grandmother sacrificed their lives for their faith and the right to remain Sikhs. We bow our heads in gratitude always and during #Shaheedi Week started on the 21st of December because #Sikh Panth is alive today because of their supreme sacrifice.

                 GURUPURAB OF GURU NANAK DEV JI


Our school organized special assembly to celebrate the Prakash Utsav also known as Gurupurab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. The celebrations began with the recitation of "Moolmantra" and Shabad followed by poem and speech by the students. Speaking on the occasion, Ma'am President, Mrs. Baljit Kaur Randhawa throw light on the teaching Of Guru Nanak Ji and shared His three guiding Principals to spiritual life i. e.
1. Vand Chhako: Sharing with others, helping those with less who are in need
2. Kirat Karo: Earning/making a living honestly, without exploitation or fraud
3.Naam Japna: Chanting the Holy Name and thus remembering God at all times (ceaseless devotion to God)
The celebrations reached to its culmination with the recitation of Ardas.

To inculcate the leadership qualities and sense of responsibility in the students and give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, our school organized the online Investiture ceremony. In this ceremony, Sir Director,Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa and Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra virtually participated to select and bless the office bearers of the school. After the series of scrutinous interviews, Prabhjot Kaur was elected as Head Girl whereas Satinderjit Singh was elected as Head Boy of the school. Both Sir and Madam congratulated the students' council of the school and said that they must set role models to promote leadership for the entire student community. They have to be the ambassadors of the school, representing the school within and outside the school expecting to maintain the discipline and decorum in the school. The students’ council took the pledge to hold the school motto of Loyalty, Truth, and Honour in high esteem.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON MARVELOUS ACHIEVEMENTS

       

The special assembly was organized by our school to celebrate the marvelous achievements of our honorable Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi. The celebrations kicked off with the floral welcome of Sir Director, Mr. Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa and Ma'am Principal, Mrs. Sakshi Chopra followed by school prayer, thought, word of the day projecting the theme of the assembly. The educators of the school delivered speeches highlighting the achievements and quailities of Ma'am which make her highly effective and great Principal. The students shared important points to be successful in life. Speaking on the occasion, Sir Director said that we must stick to our goal and have a passion to achieve it with hard work and steadfast determination. Ma'am Principal thanked Sir Director, the educators, and students of the school for organizing special assembly to honour her. Ma'am said that the goal of achieving success will always help you to live a more purposeful life by pushing you to overcome obstacles. So, work a bit harder and pursue happiness.
The assembly ended with the National Anthem.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON EXAMINATION


“Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same amount of hours per day that were given to Michelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo Di Vinci……. and Albert Einstein.” Exam time is considered to be a stressful time for the students. So, To eliminate the exam-phobia and enable the students to overcome the exam anxiety, our school organized special assembly on examination. The assembly began with school prayer, thought, word of the day and news updates.
